Conservation- Historical Operating Machinery Specialist

Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village is seeking a full-time Historical
Operating Machinery Specialist to preserve working machinery artifacts under
the direction of a Conservator.  Primary responsibility is the safe
maintenance and lubrication of all stationary working artifacts, including
machine tools, farm equipment and a carousel.  Full-scale restoration
projects depend on program needs and will require research on historical
fabrication methods and materials to inform authenticity.  Strong
problem-solving and communication skills.  Requires HS Diploma or equivalent
and 4 years of college or equivalent restoration experience, knowledge of a
variety of tools and traditional manufacturing processes and some metal
