Hi Laura,

At our museum, we have the entry to our galleries on one end of the
lobby, and the auditorium at the other. The auditorium is a rental
space, and it is quite often booked for receptions, dinners, and
buffets. In fact, many times the buffet lines are set on long tables in
the lobby area as well. When the galleries are open for patrons
attending special events with food, we station a staff person or
volunteer at the entrance to ask people to leave all food and drink
outside (we set up a convenient table by the doors). We are fortunate
because our clean up crews are very thorough, and we have yet to have
pest problems, or incidences when food threatened the collections on
exhibit.

Good luck with your project!
