This is probably a longshot, but I was wondering if anyone out there
knows where I can find info. on Civil War regimenatal arbors used in
forts?  I'm especially interested in finding out about their purpose,
historical background in fort architecture, and their construction.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
