The Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies announces the 2004 recipients of the Smithsonian Fellowships in Museum Practice:  

Robert I. Goler, Assistant Professor/Director, Arts Management Program, American University, Washington, DC.                                 
Research topic: "Making the Most of Interim Directorships: Developing Pedagogical Tools for Greater Effectiveness" 

Jessica S. Hall, Designer/Developer of Interactive Media Programs, the Newseum, Roslyn, VA. 
Research topic: "Telling Old Stories, New Ways: Using new technology to create interactive learning experiences."  

Margaret A. Lindauer, Ph.D., Independent Scholar and Museum Studies Instructor, Austin, Texas  
Research topic: "Inside, Out, and Back Again: The Relationship of New Museology and Curriculum Studies to Museum Education." 

Richard P. Sandell, Lecturer, Department of Museum Studies; Research Associate, Research Centre for Museums and Galleries, University of Leicester  Leicester, UK.

Smithsonian Fellowships in Museum Practice provides grants to museum practitioners and scholars to research and write about topics of interest to the museum field while in residence at the Smithsonian.  Program guidelines and application information are available on web site http://museumstudies.si.edu/fmp.htm    Deadline for next application cycle: February 16, 2004 for fellowships beginning after October 15, 2004. 

The Smithsonian Fellowships in Museum Practice program is generously supported by the Smithsonian Women's Committee.
