Are these areas marked as non-public areas? If not, why not? I think
the public understands that some areas are used for offices, storage,
or otherwise off-limits. You don't have to put up huge neon signs.
Simple signs done in a period font that say "Private" or "Office
Space" or even, "Sorry, this space is not on the tour" should do the
trick. You can get nice looking frames for cheap at thrift stores and
hang them on the doors. If docents can't follow those signs, then I
don't think there is hope for your docents. :)
