San Jose History Museums seeks a dynamic individual with a minimum of five
years senior management experience to assist with the transition from a
publicly funded to a privately supported institution. Reporting to the
governing board, the executive director is responsible for formulating future
directions and vision for the museum; developing and maintaining an
 effective organization; and, managing and participating in comprehensive
fundraising. Candidates should have strong leadership abilities, creative and
flexible problem solving skills, and the ability to direct and motivate
staff. In addition, candidates should have knowledge of current museum trends
and practices, proven skills in financial management, fundraising, and public
and community relations. Successful candidates will have past experience at
the level of Director, Deputy or Associate Director. Position is full-time
with competitive salary commensurate with experience. Closing date is
