Just a couple of suggestions of places to look for information - The
British Pharmacopeia is a listing of drugs and their uses. You should be
able to consult the earlier volumes at a major library or Medical
faculty. The other suggestion is to contact the Wellcome Institute for
the History of Medicine. Their Library is in London (sorry, cant
remember their address) and the majority of their collection is housed
in the Science Museum in London.
