Dear All,

I am keen to know current opinion as to what materials are considered
acceptable for use in artefact storage areas. For example, is MDF
considered an acceptable material to construct shelves and supports even
when painted with a barrier layer of water based emulsion, and with
plasterzote buffers placed between the object and MDF.

Further, I would be interested to learn what people think about the use
of perspex as a museum storage material, as it has an unknown life span
and speed of degradation.

Any information or opinion will be gratefully received.
