Dear List -- we read with interest the informative exchange concerning audience development and
interactive gardens. We're totally in favor of more green spaces!!

To learn how the many options for audience development -- such as gardens, expansions, and other
ideas -- are vetted and evaluated in an objective strategic planning process, this recent article from
Museum Design Magazine will be useful reading. It tells how The Children's Museum of the Desert
near Palm Springs, California successfully weighed their options and made significant changes --
during tough times.
