In Naomi Rosenblum's "World History of Photography" (Cross River Press, 1989)
pages 128 and 129 have a bit on Seneca Ray Stoddard (1817-1915); 129 has a
photo titled "Hudson River Landscape" n.d. albumen print. Hope this
helps. The book also has a pretty good bibliography.
