In the book, it was the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  In the movie, it was an
unnamed museum but clearly meant to be the Met.  I think the female heroine
in the movie was played by Sarah Jessica Parker (it's an old movie).  I
loved the book too--mostly because I had the same fantasy of being locked in
a museum after hours and I could touch anything I wanted.
