Adrienne: There are a couple of online classes in Art Appreciation offered by some state universities (I think San Diego State may be one of them). I found a couple when I was searching for a new A.A. textbook. I used the Metacrawler browser http://www.metacrawler.com and typed in the phrase "art appreciation." I expect using the phrase "art history" might yield similar results. In general, the online classes I found used the texbook "A World of Art," by Henry Sayre which includes a self-study CD-ROM and a coordinated website--makes it really easy to do a correspondence course. The website has tests which you email to your instructor for grading.

Best wishes,
