Kari,
I don't have a source for you but on our plywood gallery walls we have a 
fiber / fabric covering called Sisal. Everything from screws, every kind 
of nail to small lag screws have gone into those walls for around 23 
years now. We're at a point now where we need to renovate but I'm amazed 
at how much abuse that covering has taken. We do about 8-10 exhibits a 
year. The plywood behind it started to give before the covering.
