Harry--

Someone beat me to it; you have their phone number already! The First Division
Museum, 1 S 151 Winfield Road, Wheaton, IL 60187 is about 20 minutes due west
of downtown Chicago (90 minutes during rush hours!). The director is Dr. John
Votaw, a retired colonel. Web site is http://www.rrmtf.org/cantigny/index.htm

The museum is part of a larger organization, a former estate, called Cantigny.
It belonged to Col. Robert McCormick, publisher of the "Chicago Tribune."
Cantigny also has a historic-home museum and wonderful grounds--which are well worth
seeing as well (they even have a golf course on the grounds!).

The First Division Museum grew out of McCormick's involvement with the First
Division, which he served in during WWI. The name Cantigny is taken from a French
village that the Division helped save. The museum has been there for years,
but a new building with a more interpretive and thematic approach was opened in
1992 or so. It traces the involvement of the Division in conflicts from WWI
through the Gulf War.
