Last year I posted in late October for a job to start in early January. It
was a new position that had never existed. I did interviews in November
and decided/notified applicants by the 2nd week in December (telling the
applicants that this was the time schedule). Other jobs here have posted,
interviewed, and filled within one month, but these were for existing
positions that were vacated rather suddenly and for which there was no need
for a national or regional search. For my first job, I underwent a first
interview in June, a 2nd interview in July, and started in late August. So
a two-month time span does not seem unreasonable.
