You didn't say whether the wax is on the upholstery or a wood surface, but
if it is the latter, I'd avoid the suggested hot iron method suggested by
Jerry Thompson. Try a wax solvent like toluene on a soft cloth - just
remember to test a small, inconspicuous first and work under a ventilating
hood or outdoors, or use the proper respirator to avoid breathing the
vapors. There is also a commercial product called Goof-Off that's pretty
safe and may be just as effective.
