John:  I'd say unless there is some extenuating circumstance
which requires you to do the recipient a favor, they pay for
shipping.  We ask the receiving museum to pay the bill
directly, and have it sent to them.  If it has to be paid in
advance, we ask that they take care of it.

We have two canvas stiching machines that have no connection
to our collection policy.  We contacted a museum that deals
with navigation, shipping, etc., and they are interested in
the artifacts.  Is it responsibility to pay for shipping or
have the museum receiving the artifacts pay (COD?)? How do
other museums handle situations of artifacts others may
desire?
