Right across the street from the D-Day Museum is the Confederate Museum. It
is small but has neat collections. I certainly second all of the other
recommendations made thus far. Others: JAX Brewery which is now a mall, and
Hard Rock Cafe right next to it - both of which are near the river. There is
also another mall, Riverwalk Mall, not far from Canal St., which is also on
the Mississippi River. You might also try the Aquarium of the Americas, City
Park, a Superdome tour and a ferry ride on the river. Hope this helps--I
have family there, so I've been there several times. Just be careful, there
are lots of not so nice parts of town.
