Kentucky has been very involved in a statewide quilt project (the first of
which later turned into a travelling exhibition for the Smithsonian).  There ar
e many experts in the state you should contact:  Helen Thompson  2017 Lakeside
 Dr. Lexington, KY 40502 (606-266-9177)  and Shelly Zeigert in Louisville would
 be good people to start.  Also,  Museum of American Quilter's
 Society in Paducah KY  (sorry I don't have the address, but can get it).
