Hi,

We have a reproduction wall-to-wall wool carpet in the main hall of our
1838 mansion. It hasn't been cleaned in forever and it needs it. We have
two vendor options: hot water (steam cleaning that isn't really steam),
and carbonated water.

Our biggest concern is raising the humidity in the immediate area of the
house. It's a Greek Revival house with central hall, most of the rooms
off the hall have doors we can close. We're in west-central New York
State so opening windows won't be an option (we want to do this during
the winter off-season). We also want to choose the best option for the
carpet itself - it's a reproduction but we don't want it to fall apart
just yet.

Any suggestions and experiences are appreciated,

John Marks
