Whew!  David certainly used a lot of words say "we can't know this."  I'd like to see reference to research as well, and would bet that it (a)  can be done, and (b) has been done by our colleagues in the entertainment - amusement park industry.    Surely they've done at least studies about raising and lowering prices.
