ACCESS SERVICES COORDINATOR
 
        Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village seeks a permanent full time
Access Services Coordinator.  This individual will be responsible for
providing a high volume of reference and research assistance to museum
staff and external researchers both remotely and on site in the Research
Center Reading Room.
        This individual should have expertise in conducting historical
research in diverse primary and secondary sources, in developing and
implementing research strategies, and in bibliographic instruction
methods.  This individual will also be expected to make collection
development and management recommendations regarding Research Center
collections.  This individual will coordinate the work of paid and
volunteer staff.
        With the Access Services Team this individual will assist in the
development, delivery, oversight, and evaluation of all Historical
Resources public programs provided by the Access Services team.
        This individual must be an innovative self-starter with excellent
oral and written communications skills and a commitment to working in a
team environment.
        Masters in Information and Library Studies from an A.L.A. accredited
institution required.  Knowledge of current archival, library, and
information science practices and procedures especially in the areas of
manual and on-line information retrieval, reference sources and services,
and electronic access to information required.  Understanding of diverse
research methodologies desirable.  Previous supervisory experience
preferred.
        Normal office environment, frequent light lifting, standing, and
walking.  Frequent exposure to dust and mold.  Must be able to understand
and interpret complex policies and procedures to a diverse audience and
to retain concentration and poise despite numerous interruptions.

DIGITAL PROGRAM DEVELOPER
 
        Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village seeks a permanent, full time
Digital Program Developer.  This individual will be responsible for
developing, implementing, and evaluating a suite of digital exhibits and
programs deliverable to the Research Center's off-site users through the
Internet and through multimedia products as appropriate.
        This individual will be expected to coordinate the efforts of diverse
Museum staff in order to develop and create the overall suite of digital
exhibits and products.
        This individual will be expected to provide expertise and assistance to
Museum staff responsible for developing on-site digital applications as
appropriate.
        This individual will be expected to actively develop and represent the
Museum in collaborative digital initiatives which further institutional
mission and programs.
        This individual should have expertise in all relevant areas of imaging
and telecommunications technologies, and demonstrated ability in the
development of digital applications.  This individual should have a
knowledge of exhibit design principles, museum or related historical
training or experience, expertise in the area of assessing user needs and
in program evaluation, and an appreciation of the legal and intellectual
issues posed by the digital delivery of cultural resources.  This
individual will coordinate the work of paid and volunteer staff.
        With the Access Services Team this individual will assist in the
development, delivery, oversight, and evaluation of all Historical

remaining current in their field.

Experience in the development of digital applications for the delivery of
cultural resources required.  Training or experience in a museum
environment preferred.
        Normal office environment with high percentage of computer work,
occasional exposure to dust and mold.
