Dear Colleagues:

We are planning a major new long-term exhibition. Part of this planning
involves forecasting trends in visitation and exhibition technique.
Recently, someone used the term "modern exhibition." What does this mean?
What is a state-of-the-art exhibit encompass? What will this mean in 5 or
10 years? Is the profession implying that the dramatic presentations of
ideas in exhibitions must be based on using "gee-whiz" technology?

I welcome comments and suggestions for readings that I can share with my
planning team.
