I agree with you on the security question totally. In addition, I may refer to earlier German demuseum-list discussions on anonymous writers. If somebody prefers anonymity in a museum discussion list, it can be only interpreted as anxiety and missing democratic behaviour (Because you do not see the INTERESTS of the writer).
As long as the anon. writers stay friendly and keep up to the topic, who would bite them? But when some of started to talk aggressive language, very soon they were dismantled. There are technical possibilities...
