The (UK) Museums Association publishes an annual "Museums Yearbook" -
around 600 large format pages & costing something over AUS$ 150.  This
lists around 2,000 museums, galleries & collections across the UK and is
very comprehensive (staffing details etc.).  Alternatively, your
researcher might try for a (free) Information Wanted listing in the
