             SAVE THE GEC-MARCONI ARCHIVES

                                         sign the petition

The firm GEC-Marconi has decided to dispose af all their Marconi
relicts, memorabilia, ephemera and apparatus by auctioning them the
24th and 25th of April 1997 through Christie's of London.

In this way thousands of Marconi objects and documents which form "a
unique collection which charts the history of radio from Marconi's
arrival in England in 1896 through to the end of World War II (their
words not mine -ed.)" is going to be dispersed all over the world and
lost forever for future generations to see, study and enjoy.

If you think that the disposal of the GEC-Marconi archives by auction
is wrong, then sign the petition! I will present the signatures to the
GEC-Marconi Managing Director if and when they will reach a fair
number. Thank you.
