The Atlantic City Free Public Library is seeking a college student
majoring in history or museum studies or enrolled in a Masters in Library
Science (MLS) program to assist at the Atlantic City Historical Museum,
located on the Garden Pier in Atlantic City, by providing a welcoming and
rewarding learning experience to visitors.

Essential Duties include:
1. Greeting and welcoming visitors.
2. Providing information to museum visitors, answering their questions
about 	exhibits and Atlantic City history and giving tours.
3. Assisting with exhibits planning and installation.
4. Assisting with special events.
5. Assisting with gift shop, performing other duties as required.

 Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Enrollment in an accredited college in a history, library, archives, or
museum studies degree program
- Enjoy working with the public and providing outstanding customer service.
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written form and have excellent
public speaking abilities.
- Interest in Atlantic City history.
- Flexibility and a willingness to work in a dynamic, busy, and changing
environment.
- Basic computer skills, including keyboarding, MS Office.
- Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and
holidays.
- Ability to read, speak, understand and communicate in English
sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
- Must pass a background check.
- Fluency in a second language is highly desirable.
- Education or experience in museum, visual arts, or education fields is
highly desirable.

We are looking for a student who can begin in July 2014 and work 18 to 30
hours per week, including evening and weekend hours as needed, at rate of
