The Tech Museum of Innovation
Position Available
Individual Gifts Assistant

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Individual Gifts Assistant is a full-time, exempt development position
reporting to the Manager of Individual Gifts.  The Individual Gifts
Assistant helps to maintain and increase major individual support to the
Annual Fund for Education, and is responsible for tracking and processing
all information relating to individual donors and prospects including,
renewal, acknowledgment, and solicitation correspondence; benefit
fulfillment; and data entry and reports.

Responsibilities:
· Be knowledgeable of The Tech's mission, exhibits, programs and long range
plans and stay current with the functioning of the entire institution.
· Manage computerized individual data base which includes:
        -Adding or updating donor/prospect records
        -Data entry of memberships and gifts
        -Data entry of codes or activities relating to members and donor        prospects
        -Creating reports on a regular schedule
        -Extracting data for invitations
        -Code and merge data and process mailings
· Track and implement individual renewal process, acknowledge gifts, and
fulfill all individual donor benefits.
· Assume responsibility for implementing Corporate Matching Gifts.
· Reconcile cash income with Administration Department.
· Provide administrative backup for selected Development Department events.
· Produce fund raising management tools such as mailing lists, labels,
donor reports, pledge reports, letters, etc.
· Provide other support such as filing, photocopying, mailing, record
keeping, event staffing, handling telephone inquiries, etc.
· Work with volunteers to assist in activities outlined above.
· Perform other duties helpful to Development Office.
· Work as Museum Manager or Assistant Museum Manager on assigned weekend
days and holiday.

Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Non-profit development
experience preferred.
· Excellent computer skills including Windows, database, word processing
and spreadsheet are required. Experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge,
Word and Excel is desirable.
· Excellent writing skills
· Analytical, efficient and detail oriented.
· Excellent Organizational skills, familiarity with general clerical duties.
· Ability to work with highly confidential information in a fast paced
environment.
· Ability to work independently and creatively while functioning as part of
the development and overall museum team.
· Willingness to work one weekend day a month and availability for special
events.
