The curator of the Women's Memorial at Arlington Cemetery is
looking for information on women who served directly with the
military on the frontier or in/with the forts of early
America. We have some good leads on checking court
martial records and pension records but are trying to find
other avenues to research. Note that we are interested in
women who served directly with the military like laundresses,
nurses, cooks, disguised as men or in other capacities like
spying. This is different from women who on their own, protected
their homes and families.

If anyone has any good leads on ways to research this or has
done research on this topic, please let me know.

Thanks!!
