Gail,
I just got back from Edinburgh...literally. I stayed in a small hotel in
the outskirts(the Cairn hotel), and there was a walk to get to the city
center, although nothing is a really long walk in Edinburgh. It was a two
star and had no AC(most do not), but you normally do not need it in
Scotland even at the height of summer. One of the best places to stay,
depending upon your budget would the the Radisson SAS. It is right in the
center of the "Golden Mile" and centrally situated for everything,
including the train station(Waverly). There are several others right in
that area as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions for places to stay in Edinburgh,
Scotland? We will be traveling there in a couple of weeks. Any
