Add me to the list:
My first degree/career was in theatre. Many practical applications
translate into exhibits, as well. Of course, with a few minor
adjustments, like people will be seeing from a few inches rather than 30
feet! Actually, since beginning to work in a museum with approximately
a 10,000 piece clothing/textile collection, I have worked more on
costume design for local community/university/rep theatres than I did
when I was a member of a theatre company. I have also contributed
research for set design when people wanted "authentic" furnishings.
There are so many ways that theatre and museum training can complement
each other. I love my job!
