Personally, I *do* take exception to blonde/blue-eyed Jesus. I have
contempt for that arrogance. Even as a kid I was suspicious of how he
looked in so many paintings I saw. I wondered about the pale skin and rosy
cheeks, even on the dark-haired versions. Does this constitute racial
profiling and make me a racist?

But one small compensation is that at least those paintings weren't painted
from life (Jesus wasn't the one sitting for those portraits) or taken
directly from a photo. I believe a multi-ethnic, multi-gender,
multi-handedness (I'll bet there were lots of us lefties killed in the WTC,
since we make about 15% of the population) memorial would be great! I also
believe the people paying for this memorial should pick another artist,
though, one who will actually create an *original* design and not plagiarize
a photo. Or, if they really want a replication of that photo, they should
demand the photo be replicated.

From dark-haired (at least before it went gray!), brown-eyed, female,
left-handed, overweight, and fully-opinionated me...

For those of you who take exception about the complexion of the three
firefighters in the WTC memorial statue, do you rail against quite a few of
the great masterpieces, especially those of the Renaissance?
