Kathy,
Our historical society will solicit organizations for gifts when we are
accepting collections.  A typical example would be a collection of
business women's club papers (4 l.f.) - in this situation we have asked
and recieved one time gifts in a $ 250-$500 range.

SOHS Collections Department wrote:
