Post-doctoral fellowships available

Post-doctoral positions are available at the Smithsonian Center for
Materials Research and Education (SCMRE), Smithsonian Institution.  Position
involves research concerning the preservation of natural history specimens
and collections.  A degree in organic, bio-organic or biochemistry is
preferred. Research involves working with a broad range of natural history
specimens preserved in a variety of manners in order to better understand
those factors that contribute to their stability/deterioration under various
storage regimes.  The goal of these researches is to develop methods to
better preserve the information content of the specimens for current and
future biologically-oriented research.  Involves working with a number of
analytical techniques such as GLC, HPLC, TLC, SEM+EDAX, GCMS, etc.
Experience in these techniques is desirable.  Positions are located at
SCMRE's facilities in Suitland, Maryland, USA.  Positions are available
immediately.
