Hello All:

I'm posting this for a friend, but you may reply to me on or off list.

Please let us know if you come across any books or articles on fashion.
The type of books we are looking for are not fashion style books
rather books which give all of the interesting tid bit details like how
many buttons according to Florentine 15th century law were woman allowed to

have on their sleeves. How high could your hair be pilled if you were a
countess in 17th century French court, etc. The type of information which
provides social history and accounts of fashionable and social events,
especially in Italy and especially, of course, in Florence during the
Renaissance. This area was extremely rich in material goods, silks from the

East; the wool merchants and their donations to the dowries of impoverished

families, etc. This type of social information is also valuable.

Thanks a Million!
Sandra Abbott
