Red River Valley Temporary Exhibit Project Director

The Red River Valley Historical Society (RRVHS) and the Heritage Hjemkomst
Interpretive Center are seeking to contract with an individual, business or
organization to construct a temporary exhibit about the Red River Valley.
Considerable research and conceptualization has been completed and some
exhibit materials have been built. An inventory of suitable artifacts will
have been compiled. We are looking for someone to complete and execute our
plans.



Job Objective:

The Project director will be responsible for completing a temporary Red
River Valley exhibit before April 2001.



The project director will have the following responsibilities:

Assist committee in coordinating final stage planning of the permanent Red
River Valley exhibit.
Be responsible for organizing and programming execution.
Confer with Red River Valley Heritage Society board and Heritage Hjemkomst
Interpretive Center staff on content of temporary RRV exhibit.
Keep financial and property records.
Build and set up the exhibit including creating labels.


Candidate must have the following qualifications:

Substantial exhibit design and fabrication experience
Time management skills
Ability to work with a committee
Strong communication skills


Compensation:

The contracted employee will receive a four month stipend (December 2000
through April 2001) of $4,500-$7,000, depending on credentials and
experience.
