I apologize for the intrusion of these questions--but a community of
researchers is exactly what I need to help me out with this interesting and
ultimately useful project.

The story is this: I'm working with a company which is focusing on providing
solutions for people like us--folks who use the internet as a research
medium. They are creating software solutions and a web resource for
internet researchers. Their goal is to help people like us organize,
retain, manage, consolidate and share Internet-sourced information. (I've
walked through an early version, and it's going to be terrific - I wish it
were ready for me to do this project!) My role is to help develop the
content for the web site.

Which is where (I hope) you come in. I want to build a site that will be
useful to people like you and me--folks in search of great research tools
and techniques. There are lots of great lists of links around, but I would
like this site to create a sense of community for researchers like us. To
that end, I'm hoping you will answer a few questions to help me in this
venture:

1. What subjects/type of data do you typically look for?

2. How much time do you usually spend on-line each day?

3. Where do you go now to find out the latest in research tools and
techniques?

4. Do you have a favourite homepage for research information or starting
points?

5. What do you use the internet for? What don't you use it for, but wish you
could?

6. What would bring you back to a site--what would like to learn?

7. Do case studies (successes and failures) interest you?

8. Would you be interested in beta testing their software?

If you say yes to the latter, there should be something to show you in the
fall.

Thanks. Creating something new and useful is a great challenge and I
appreciate your input. Let's hope the relationship formed through this
intrusive solicitation might last. I'll let you know when the software comes
out.

Thanks,
