Museum Computer Network Conference
Museums and Technology: The Name of the Game is Change
September 6-9, 2000
Four Seasons Hotel
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

The staid and traditional "museum" is shedding its straight-jacket and
morphing into an organization that reaches out to new audiences and
communities using the latest tools. Technological advances point toward a
new way of conducting
business -- changing staff roles, new organizational structure, diverse
audiences, increased access, innovative collaborations, new approaches.
Change is the status quo. How do we mainstream this concept into the very
core of a
museum's mission and operations? How can we possibly keep pace with the
blindingly quick rate of technological change? MCN-2K offers an opportunity
to stop spinning and think, discuss, learn about, and reflect on change.

You are invited to submit your proposal for a conference session or
pre-conference workshop, addressing the conference theme or any area of
technology relating to museums or cultural heritage. Please point your
browser to: http://www.mcn.edu/mcn2k/index.htm where you can download a .pdf
version of the Call for Papers. Complete the form and fax or mail to the
coordinates listed. Please share your projects and expertise with your
colleagues!

We are excited about our Vegas venue -- inexpensive airfare (did you know
Vegas is one of the few air stops that DOESN'T require a Saturday stayover
for a low fare???), reasonable hotel rates, and lots of fun for every taste.
The Four Seasons is a beautiful hotel, well-equipped for conferences, but no
on-site gambling. However, if you want to try your luck, there's plenty of
opportunity just a short walk away.

Get this conference on your professional calendar! We hope to see you there.
