The Scientific Center :  Discovery Place
Kuwait

The Scientitic Center in Kuwait City includes an  Aquarium, I Max Theatre
and Discovery Place ( a children's exploratory science based learning
center ).


Positions Available : Assistant Director of Programs
  & Team Leaders ( two positions )

The Director of Programs will assist the Director in developing and
coordinating all educational programs for the Aquarium and Discovery Place;
to include school programs, demonstrations, presentations and special
events. In addition, he or she will supervise and evaluate all staff who
work with the public.

Qualifications:

… Bachelor's Degree in Education, Environmental Science, Museum Education
or related  experience in public education program administration.
… Minimum four years experience working with public programs and with
children in interactive learning situation.
… Experience training adults
… Experience in developing and implementing  public programs
… Experience working with adults and children from diverse cultures and
languages
… Must be energetic, resourceful, comfortable in public situations, well
organized and have good interpersonal skills.


Team Leaders are responsible for organizing , training and supervising
staff in working with the public. They will need to provide support to
staff who are new to interactive learning environments. They will need to
model and perform demonstrations and public presentations, as well as work
with the Assistant Director of Programs to create staff schedules and
initiate programs.

… Experience with public presentations
… Experience working with children in interactive, hands-on activities
… Experience working with diverse culture and languages
… Must be personable, friendly, confident and approachable
… Must be able to "think on his/her feet"



Contracts are offered for min. of 18 months with possible extension,
