Greetings all:

There are quite a few resources out there concerning fire detection and
protection systems. I recommend reviewing anything written by Nick Artim of
the Fire Safety Network. Here are a couple of references:

AN INTRODUCTION TO FIRE DETECTION, ALARM, AND AUTOMATIC FIRE SPRINKLERS,
Technical Leaflet, Emergency Planning, Section 3, leaflet 2, Northeast
Document Conservation Center (http://www.nedcc.org/plam3/tleaf32.htm).

"Cultural Heritage Fire Suppression Systems: Alternatives to Halon
1301." WAAC Newsletter, Volume 15, Number 2 (May 1993): 34-36. ...
www.museum-security.org/03/004.html.

There is also:

NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 909: Code for the Protection of
Cultural Resources Properties - Museums, Libraries, and Places of Worship

NFPA 914: Code for Fire Protection of Historic Structures
