Collections Assistant

For our significant New York City corporate collection client we are seeking
a Collections Assistant.  The successful candidate will assist the
Collections Manager with all aspects of managing a collection of fine and
decorative art spanning the 18th through contemporary art.  The ideal
applicant will follow up on the purchase, consignment and sales of fine and
decorative art and antiques; oversee all related documentation, research,
shipping, storage, etc; liaise with financial staff to produce financial
records, sales tax returns, etc; order office supplies and oversee office
maintenance; produce monthly insurance reports and keep inventory; other
duties as required.  BA in art history and a strong general knowledge of
fine and decorative art is essential.  Excellent database skills,
particularly Outlook, Excel and MSWord, are required. Salary DOE with
