Dan's response was much like what I was thinking as I read the original
email. I'm frankly not sure pre-schoolers are very good candidates for a
history program.

However, maybe just seeing some things that have changed since their parents
were 'little' might be the first chink in understanding that there is
"past".

Recently I had a school age child, in response to my comment about something
that had changed, said, "Oh yes, I know, it's like when my parents were
little Ninja Turtles were ____ and now they are ____.

As you might guess I pre-date Ninja Turtles and the differences in her
description didn't stick.... I was busy just absorbing the idea that Ninjas
had changed!! Guess I'd better start paying more attention :-)

What will your program objectives be? Pre-schoolers think that a long time
ago was last night and a long ways away is the end of the block...

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Pre-school history programs

Greetings:

We are developing a pre-school history based program, and would love some
advice on what has and has not worked for other historic sites. This will
help us design a successful a pre-school history program.

Appreciate any and all advice on this topic.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Jan Mccormick
