The Tampa Museum of Art in Tampa, FL seeks a dynamic museum professional
for the position of Curator of Classical Art. The curator is responsible
for the maintenance and development of an important collection of
classical antiquities which has at its core the Joseph Veach Noble
Collection with its special strengths in Attic vase-painting. Duties
include ongoing research and documentation of the collection, organization
of exhibitions, planning and participating in a variety of educational
programs, overseeing acquisitions, and the cultivation of potential
donors. The Curator of Classical Art reports to the Director of the museum
and works closely with the Curator of Contemporary Art in planning the
exhibition schedule, with the Registrar, the Chief Preparator and the
Curator of Education. The position may include adjunct teaching in
classical art at a Tampa Bay area college or university. The successful
candidate will have a doctorate in classical art or archaeology and three
years museum experience. Applications should be sent with a curriculum
