FREE Astronomy Training for Informal Science Educators - Apply Now!

Astronomy from the Ground Up is a National Science Foundation funded program
developed to provide informal science educators at small- to medium-sized
nature centers, science-tech centers/museums and natural history museums
with new and innovative ways to communicate the excitement of modern
astronomy to their visitors.

Key Elements of the Program include: Workshops (both onsite and through
distance learning) where participants learn fun techniques to present
astronomy topics and to interpret current astronomical events and
discoveries; Toolkits of activities covering three major themes in
astronomy; and an Online Community that enables participants to stay in
touch with colleagues all over the US to share their ideas, keep up with
current astronomy news, learn new activities, share programming stories, and
express concerns.

Learn more, including HOW TO APPLY at http://www.astrosociety.org/afgu
Educators in the Southwest are especially encouraged to apply at this time.
