I third the recommendation for contacting Mt. Auburn Cemetery in
Cambridge, MA. They have a number of memorials for well-known folks
there, so it is a site of historic and tourist interest. (My mother's
family, however, is in a bunch of little brass urns down in the
basement. :-))

There's also an important colonial African-American cemetery in
Newport, RI. So, you might try tracking those folks down via the
Newport Historical Society.

Hi Cecilia

I would contact the African American Meeting House on Joy Street in
Boston, MA and the Mount Auburn Cemetary in Cambridge, MA. They may have
some good suggestions for you.

Best,
Ware
