Eligibility:
1. applicant are required to be a non profit 501(c) 3 history organization
2. applicant organization must be located in one of the 50 states or DC
3. eligible applicants include: local govt agencies,parks and rec
commissions, historic commissions,local history dept, local govt or agency
which owns or operates a historic site or property
 Then there is Preserve America
These are grants provide to groups through communites(another possibility)

Save Americas treasures: Who May Apply 
Federal Agencies funded by the Department of the Interior and Related
Agencies Appropriations Act. 
Other Federal agencies collaborating with a nonprofit partner to preserve
the historic properties or collections owned by the Federal agency may
submit applications through the nonprofit partner. 
Nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c), U.S organizations. 
Units of state or local government. 
Federally recognized Indian Tribes. 
Historic properties and collections associated with active religious
organizations are eligible to apply for grants. They must meet the grant
Selection Criteria, including national significance. 

What is Funded
Preservation and/or conservation work on nationally significant intellectual
and cultural artifacts and nationally significant historic structures and
sites. Intellectual and cultural artifacts include artifacts, collections,
documents, sculpture and works of art (hereinafter collections). Historic
structures and sites include historic districts, sites, buildings,
structures and objects (hereinafter historic properties).

America's most significant cultural treasures illustrate, interpret, and

Greetings All,

If the property is listed on the National Registery it may qualify for a
Save America's Treasure grant.  The program is administered through the
National Park Service.  For consideration you will need to contact your
local member of congress to make the request.

Hello:

I'm about to leave the office for a week's vacation (whoo-hoo!) and I 
wanted to post this quick query before I left.  

Some women just came in to the museum and are about embark upon restoring 
the old movie theater in our city of about 15,000.  They were wondering if 
there are any grants out there specifically for theater restoration.  I 
haven't heard of anything like that, but I thought I'd ask the experts.  
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
