Thanks for raising the issue. If the NYC B of Ed is censoring all art
museum sites then that is a very disturbing phenomenon. However, I can
imagine a few sites that might be inappropriate.

We're in a small community by comparison and K-12 teachers here also
have a very difficult time doing field trips to museums. The time,
expense, permissions to do this are understandably complicated. Despite
this fact, we have had a lot of luck at bringing school groups here-
some from as far as an hour and a half away.

We're expanding our educational programming and it has been an
eye-opener for me. I often expect resistance/trouble with content issues
in some of the contemporary art that we display and always recommend
that teachers come see a show themselves before bringing their students.
But the content, whether it involves nudity, politics, religion or
sexuality, hasn't yet troubled either the educators or any of the kids
at all. As long as the docent involves the students in a positive way,
the kids are just really excited about seeing art.
