Hello,

For those of you who know of the historic Yankee Air Museum near
Ypsilanti, Michigan, you will be saddened by the news that the historic
hanger burned to the ground this past Saturday evening. The cause is
not yet known but the hanger and most of its contents were a total
loss. Crews were able to get the C-47, B-25, and B-17G out of the
hanger, so they and the other outside aircraft were saved. All of the
historic objects in the 1941 hanger and connected display area, and
numerous other aircraft and parts were destroyed. I am not a
spokesperson for the Museum and can't tell you how this will affect
plans that were underway for a $55 million dollar expansion project.

Regards,

Matt Linke
