No.  The days of having to prove you're really an "org" are long gone.  Any
domain is free for the taking.  Go to the domain seller of your choice, and
go for it.  For my personal, non-professional domain, I registered it with
Network Solutions and later switched to Register.com for domain management.
However, this is still working with the traditional $35/yr, not counting
hosting.  These days discount registrars and hosting abound.  I have seen
registration, plus basic hosting, for as little as $15/year.  I do not know
that pros and cons (well, the cons, the pro is pretty obvious) of going this
route, maybe someone else here has experience with that.
