Gary Bauer writes, feverishly:
> It used to be we were united.

When was this? Who was united?

Was it white and black?
Was it christian and jew?
Was it latinos and people of European descent?
Was it working men and managers?

I agree that the terms diversity, etc, are getting beaten to the ground,
and that the concept is being used to create group entitlements that might
disregard larger unities. But, please, don't hold up the current times
against an imaginary past where we were all united. There was a unity of
perspective presented in the mainstream media, say in the early 60's. But
that was principally because there were such a limited range of voices
represented in the media.
